We are mourning the loss of Tom Hernandez longtime Director of Community Relations who passed away April 15, 2024.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Glenn Wood said Hernandez was a thoughtful, caring person representing District 202 proudly and professionally.
“Tom Hernandez was a true champion for District 202 and was well known for his professionalism, positive attitude, and big heart. He was known as “The Voice” of 202 because he made the school cancellation phone calls and often served as emcee for district and other events. Hernandez’s legacy is one of compassion and community. He will be deeply missed.”

Power went down at Ira Jones this morning around 7:00 am in portions of the school.
We are still having school as buses have begun their routes and Com ED is on site and expects full power before 10 am.
There are no phones at the school at this time but we will keep families informed throughout the day as to the status of school. #202proud
