Congratulations! The 2025 Ira Jones Middle School Spelling Bee winner is seventh grader Alanur Mescioglu. Mescioglu won in the 31st round by spelling the word embattled correctly. Sixth grader Kshaunish Panjwani is this year’s runner-up. “What a great competition between 33 amazing spellers,” Ira Jones Middle School teacher Karen Domabyl said. “We had many rounds with 10 or more students still competing,” she added. Mescioglu will compete in the Will County Regional Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
