Ira Jones Middle School will stage “Newsies Jr.” this weekend at Plainfield North High School, 12005 S. 248th Street.
The shows are at 7 p.m. tonight, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, and 2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, and Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The show is based on the Disney movie and Broadway show “Newsies, Jr.” and is inspired by the true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York.
When newspaper publishers raise the prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newies across the city to strike against the unfair conditions.
